On April 30th, 2022 Ghana’s Women’s National team moved on to secure their place in the final round of the qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA U17 Women’s world cup.
Ghana has moved on to the 4th round of the African U-17 World Cup Qualifying Tournament with a dominating 7-0 win over Guinea. Led by an outstanding effort of Nancy Amoh and Constance Agyeman who each scored two goals in the victory. Also scoring one goal each, were Ghana’s Georgina Ayisha Aoyem, Dejean Kubura, and Mary Amponsah.
Next, Ghana’s Black Maidens will move on to take on Morocco in a match to secure their place in the 2022 Fifa U17 Women’s World Cup. The 2022 Fifa U17 Women’s World Cup will begin on Tuesday, Oct 11, 2022, going through Sunday, October 30th, 2022, and will take place in India. Ghana’s Black Maidens will host the Moroccan team on May 22nd, 2022 at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium for the first leg and will then head to Rabat, Morocco for the second leg.
The competition will be tough but Ghana has had a strong showing so far in large part thanks to Top Goal-Scorer Georgina Aoyem who has 3 total goals after her 2 scored in the last match. Ghana also is the only team in the African U-17 World Cup Qualifying Tournament with 3 players with two goals apiece (Constance Agyemang, Nancy Amoh, and Princes Owusu).
