Council of Ghanaian Associations (COGA)
COGA-DFW (Council of Ghanaian Associations – Dallas Fort Worth) was established in 2007 when Ghana celebrated its 50th Golden Jubilee anniversary of independence from colonial rule. Since then, COGA has been the coordinating group for 8 various Ethnic and professional groups in the Dallas Fort Worth metropolitan area. If it wasn’t for them, GhanaFest would have never been possible. VIP Communications is proud to partner with COGA-DFW and congratulates them on their 2nd annual GhanaFest event.
One focus of the non-profit organization is helping educate young ones about African culture and values. GhanaFest is the perfect event for children to witness and experience traditional clothing, values, food, music, dance and more. By promoting Ghanaian culture, this has definitely created a sense of unity in the Dallas Fort Worth area for Ghanaians and other West African ethnic groups. As COGA-DFW continues to push more activities in the community, they hope to organize more events and continue GhanaFest annually for many years to come. A big turnout is expected from locals and people traveling from other cities and states.
Hearts for Ghana Mission
One member of the Council of Ghanaian Associations, Lawrence Dagadu, works closely with the Hearts for Ghana Mission. The prime objective of this organization is to transform the lives of disadvantaged children by imbibing in the teachings of the word of God as well as equipping them with economic empowerment tools.
VIP Communications is a proud supporter and has partnered with Mr. Dagadu to help them fund future activities and projects by making donations whenever a new customer opens an account for international calling and mobile recharge services. Mr. Dagadu will be at the event in case you would like to talk with him directly but you can also reach him by phone at (972) 724-0102 if you would like to get involved.
