  What do you do with my personal information?

VIP respects our members' privacy. We collect your information to assist in offering high quality service to you. We may utilize your information in the future to help identify and market new products and services that we believe may benefit you. We maintain a high level of security to protect your information from any unauthorized access.

  How long do I have to use the money in my account?

Your account will remain active as long as you use it at least once every six months. If there is no activity for six months (182 days), your account will expire. Please see our 'Terms and Conditions’ for specific details.

  Does VIP support conference calling?

Whilst you currently cannot set up a conference call using our system, if your phone has two or more lines and a conference facility, you can use your account to make multiple simultaneous calls and conference them together using your phone.

  Can I use VIP from any phone?

  Can I use VIP outside of North America?

  Do I use the same access number to call from any country?

  How to use Direct Access?

To use Direct Access you must dial 703-796-8000 instead of the usual Toll Free access number. If you have a bundled minute package, at home or with your mobile phone, then this call may be covered by your allocated minutes or may even be free if you have an unlimited calling or free nights and weekends package'

Note: Calling the Direct Access Number (703-796-8000) may generate a call charge from your domestic service provider. If so, it may be better for you to use out Toll Free Access service. Please check with your provider before using Direct Access to ensure no additional call charges will accrue.

  Why are there different prices on your website?

VIP offers different calling plans in order to best suit our customers needs. Our plans are:

VIP Preferred Plan Highest possible call quality at slightly higher prices.
VIP Euro Economy Plan Most competitive plan for calling Europe with good call quality.
VIP MidEast Economy Plan Most competitive plan for calling the Middle East with good call quality.
VIP Plan América Economy Most competitive plan for calling South & Central America with good call quality.
VIP SANZAR Economy Plan Most competitive plan for calling Australia, South Africa & New Zealand with good call quality.

Once your account is set up with one of the Regional Calling Plans, you can still choose to use our Preferred Plan by dialing the corresponding access number.

  What if I travel oversea?

You can access the VIP service from over 30 countries worldwide. For a list of these countries and the costs associated with calling from them, click here. For a list of access numbers, click here to log into your account and select Access Numbers on the left hand side.

  Can I access more than one economy rate plan in the same account?

No, you cannot use two economy plans under the same account. Either select the region you call most frequently or open two accounts, one for each region you call.

  How does VIP inform me of any rate changes?

Customers are notified of all rate changes by email. Please call Customer Service at 1-800-836-5004 or email to customerservice@joinvip.com if you need to update your email address.

Billing Questions
 

  How does VIP bill?

All of our prices are flat rates per minute valid 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with no hidden charges, no weekly or monthly fees, no connections fees and no call minimum. Call duration will be rounded to the next full minute and will be billed in one (1) minute increments. The charges will be deducted from your pre-paid account balance at the end of each call.

Calls that originate from a payphone are subject to an F.C.C. surcharge. For more information on when and why this surcharge applies, please click here

  Does VIP charge monthly or have any hidden fees and/or extra taxes?

No, we do not charge monthly fees. All of our prices are flat rate per minute, with no monthly fees, no connection fees and no extra taxes. The minute rate is all you pay.

  What is a pay phone surcharge and how is it charged?

Pay Phone Surcharges are mandated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and are designed to compensate pay phone operators for free phone calls made from their pay phones. The current FCC mandated surcharge is $0.55 per call. VIP passes this charge on to our customers, only when your call originates from a phone identified to us as a pay phone and the call is answered at the destination end.

  If I use VIP from my cell phone, will I get charged extra?

The VIP rate from your cell will be will be the same as from a landline. Remember that you can access your VIP service using either a Toll Free number OR, using our Direct Access service, by calling a 703 national number. Click here for more information on Direct Access.

Please check with your mobile service provider to see how they charge for Toll Free and National numbers. Usually both types of calls are included in your minute plans and, because Direct Access offers lower rates, in this case this would be the service to use.

Once again if you are not certain please check with your provider to see how they charge for these calls.

  If I dial a number and I get an answering machine and I don’t leave a message, do I get charged?

Yes. If the called party answers the call, even if it is answered by an answering machine, the call is considered connected and you will be charged at our published rate per minute (or part thereof) of connection time.

  Is it safe to signup and/or add money to my account online?

Our online service equips with high-grade 256-bit SSL certificate. It means all sensitive information is encrypted, with strong encryption methods.

  Do I have to call you to add money to my account?

VIP online service is safe and convenient. You can access your account online and securely recharge your account. If, however, you do not have any access to your account online, please contact our customer service. We will be happy to assist you. We also offer an automatic re-crediting service. For information on this service, please call Customer Service at 1-800-836-5004.

  What if I don't have a credit card?

  If VIP does not accept my credit card online, what could be wrong?

The credit card processing is automated via a real-time verification system. To prevent fraud, all information related to the credit card is sensitive and has to exactly match the details held by your credit card issuer. If you are unable to use your credit card on our website, please call Customer Service at 1-800-836-5004 and tell them any error code you have received.

  Can VIP automatically re-credit my account when the balance gets low?

Yes, we can recharge your account for you when your account balance drops below $5. Please login to your account online and click on ‘Make Payment’ menu button to obtain an automatic re-crediting form with an instruction on how to setup automatic re-crediting.

  What happens when the balance gets to zero?

If you are on a call when your credit is getting low, you will here a low credit warning when you have five minutes remaining. Further low credit warnings will be heard at one minute remaining and twenty seconds remaining. You will need to terminate your call and re-credit your account. If your credit runs out whilst you are on a call, the call will disconnect.

  Does VIP send me a statement of my account?

No, we do not provide paper statements. Your call history and payment history is available online. Simply log into your account by clicking here and select the Payment History or Call History button on the left hand side.

  How do I obtain the balance of my account?

Every time you make a call using our service, you will hear your account balance. If you would like to hear your balance at the end of a call, simply hit the hash key twice (# #).

  Will my account ever expire?

Your account will not expire as long as you use our service at least once every six months. VIP reserves the right to terminate any account left unused for a period of 182 days.

  How do I add money to my account?

To recharge your account online, click here and log into your account. Select the ‘Make Payment’ button on the left hand side and follow the instructions. If you do not have online access, please contact our Customer Service Department on 1-800-836-5004.

  Can I enter more than one Caller ID (CLI) number in my account?

Yes. To add or edit CLI details, click here to login to your account and select the ‘Manage Account’ button on the left hand side. Then select ‘View edit caller ID (CLI)’ and follow the instructions. For security, VIP recommends that you only enter private numbers that you own, such as your cell phone number of home phone number.
