What is a pay phone surcharge and how is it charged?
Pay Phone Surcharges are mandated by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
and are designed to compensate pay phone operators for free phone calls made from their pay phones.
The current FCC mandated surcharge is $0.55 per call. VIP passes this charge on to our customers,
only when your call originates from a phone identified to us as a pay phone and the call is answered
at the destination end.
